Tropica Vallisneria spiralis 'Tiger' potted
Plant in 5 cm pot

Vallisneria spiralis 'Tiger' is a good beginner plant from Asia that grows in all light and water conditions.

It grows 30-50 cm long and has 1-2 cm wide leaves.

It is named 'Tiger' because of the transverse stripes on its leaves.
Thanks to its relatively short leaves, it is well suited for smaller aquariums, and its narrow leaves do not cast shadows on smaller plants in the aquarium.
It readily forms runners and is therefore easy to propagate.

Profile:

  • Name: Vallisneria spiralis ‘Tiger’
  • Plant type: Rosette plant / grass-like aquarium plant
  • Origin: Tropical and subtropical regions; cultivar for aquaristics
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Growth rate: Medium to fast
  • Growth height: approx. 30–60+ cm
  • Use in aquarium: Background, especially good as a dense plant curtain or edge planting
  • Light requirement: Low to medium
  • CO₂: Not necessary, but can promote growth

  • Temperature: approx. 20–28 °C
  • pH range: approx. 6.0–8.0
  • Water hardness: soft to hard
  • Propagation: Runners / daughter plants
